The 2nd Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition
The second edition of the Competition took place in 2023 and continued the idea first launched five years earlier
The second edition of the Competition took place in 2023 and continued the idea first launched five years earlier.
Its Director was Ewa Bogusz-Moore, then General and Programme Director of NOSPR. The most significant change from the first edition was the separation of the composition competition from the performance competition. The composition competition was held in 2022, and the prize-winning works were subsequently included in the compulsory repertoire for participants in the performance categories in 2023.
The Competition auditions took place at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and at NOSPR. The edition lasted 19 days and comprised auditions in four performance categories, Finals with orchestra, and the Awards Gala.
